Well, I’ve finally prioritized the next website to go. Jorge (www.LatAmConnect.com) thinks it will take 2-3 weeks to get up. That is assuming I don’t change my mind a dozen times. I am struggling a little bit with the type of website to do. It’s purpose is going to be sell a product package that is digitally deliverable. I’m rethinking that a bit as well. It might be better to offer a physical package too. We’re talking about not printing manuals, though. We’ll include those on CD. That will help us keep the costs down. The biggest problem I ran into with physical inventory of educational products is that they frequently get outdated really quickly and you’re sitting on $70,000 worth of inventory. You can try print on demand, which we did, but it means you have to have someone available at a minute’s notice to actually print, assemble and ship. In a small office, that’s tough to do. Once I figure out what the product actually is, and how we’re going to deliver it, we need to figure out price point. There is a saying in our world that “7″ is the new “9″. In other words, “9″ used to be the number you always used in pricing products. Don’t charge $10, charge $9.99. Now, there is a psychological advantage to “7″ or maybe it’s one of those urban myths that all of us in the infopreneuring business “know” that might not be true. THEN, I figure out the website. At this point, I don’t think I’m going to do a Web 2.0 type of site. This will be more static with reasons to opt-into the database (get a special report), plus I’ll do an audio or video stream that talks about a key point and sells the product. I’ll send people to this site from Google ads, eZine articles and affiliate marketing with a couple of big joint venture guys.
