I asked Bill if he would mind sharing his goals and pledge for his own journey. This is what Bill wrote:

“Laura and I have been on the most incredible ride for the last 11 months.  After over 25 years of combined entrepreneurship, we somehow landed in the middle of an amazing group of people who have motivated, inspired, and counseled us on taking our skills and talents to the next level in our businesses.

We’ve had some level of success in business over the years, having had a private tax and accounting practice in California and owning tax chain franchises and Curves for Women franchises.  We’ve had that taste of satisfaction from creating something from the ground up and the freedom to create our own reality that comes with it.

In the last few weeks, we’ve found more of those “hidden business assets” through our relationship with our mastermind group.  What I thought of as just “doing a good job” with merchant accounts and getting sales data into the TaxLoopholes accounting program, Diane saw as a brilliant opportunity to provide a valuable service to fledgling (and not-so-new) business owners to help them avoid some of the headaches of merchant accounts and also save money and time by automating many of the routine tasks.  Out of these conversations and mastermind discussions came our new business: ebizCFO LLC.  In brainstorming the rough plan for this new opportunity, I also wanted to be able to have an avenue to “give back” as the business grew.  If you were at Diane’s Advanced Tax Seminar in San Diego this last March, you’ll understand when I say I was so moved by David’s (Diane’s son) story of life in the Juarez orphanages, that I wanted to make charitable support a cornerstone of the new business plan.  I can’t claim originality in this concept, but our business plan does include a component for providing support to children-related charities.  We’re still hammering out all the details, but we’ve already contracted with a merchant service company to provide credit card processing services to our clients, and we’ll be including support for shopping carts, internet gateways, and integrating it all with your accounting software.  Even though our business name is ebizCFO, we won’t limit our service to just ecommerce.

Our mastermind group was also the catalyst for us in a new business collaboration with Megan Hughes for critical business start-up services.  I’ll let Megan fill you in on the birth of Business Gurus LLC and what exciting things we’ll be doing as your Business Gurus!”
