I have an active forum going at my 1st website, TaxLoopholes. I have a daily tax and asset protection blog going there as well. And I have this blog and forum.
Some days I feel stretched to thin, creatively. I’m not physically tired, per se. But my brain gets tired. Does that ever happen to you? So, I’m looking right now at two main things:
(1) How to quickly recharge my creativity
(2) How to maximize my time and effort
For recharging: I have a number of tricks: physical exercise (I’m back swimming daily and love it), go for a quick walk away from my computer, meditate, some quick yoga exercises, walk around my garden and “deadhead” flowers, visit my husband in his office (limited success there because he’s often knee deep in something as well.
For maximizing time and effort: I view time as chunks. When I feel overwhelmed, I make a list and start on a small piece. As Tony Robbins says, “Chunk it down”. I’ve done that for years. I pick certain days for certain activities and cluster then together. For example, I have client appointments on Tues, Thurs and occassionally Wed afternoon. Fri is for team and internal meetings. Mon is the free for all, potpourri because it is traditionally our busiest day. If I tried to schedule work on Mon, I’d never get it done.
Right now, I just fit the creative items into the cracks. But I realize that I need to free up blocks of time for my creative writing. So, I’m looking again at my schedule for how I can compress the activities even more.
The one thing I don’t want to do, however, is start making every day a day where I do everything. That ends up exhausting me mentally because I have to keep shifting gears. And I find that I’m not nearly as creative.

I don’t know how you do it all. I strive to be organized but there are many times I feel way too unorganized. I teach full time (until June 10), invest in real estate (both rentals and rehab), internet marketing business with my son (taking more time than I thought - hopefully that will change soon), and starting my blog. My wife and I get up at 4:45 to work out for 45 minutes, we sit and have coffe together, have breakfast, and then our day starts. Definitely find ourselves wearing out by the end of the week. I have summers off so my goal is to be doing well in the other ventures so I do not have to teach next fall.
With you having two high school kids at home, that is tough to stay creative and energetic. They take time too. It is a good time though.
