Conversion Stats Not Good

Blog

Well, out of the box, my site, www. HighTouchSystem .com is getting decent visits, but lousy conversion.

We might have launched too early.  The sign up process is through a secure server, but the little lock symbol that we’re used to seeing only appears when you actually sign up.  Until then, it doesn’t look like it’s secure. I’ve gotten a couple of email complaints about that.  And I’ve always heard that for every one complaint you hear, there are a dozen that you don’t.  So, that is definitely an issue.

Then I just discovered that the field for expiration date wasn’t showing up correction for Internet Explorer, version 6 I’m going to guess, because that’s been our nemesis.

We’ll get it fixed and I’ll do another round of emails to push people to the site.

The offer is too good not to be picked up.  Sign up, follow the program and if you don’t increase your business by 20% I refund.  I don’t think it’s the offer.  I think it’s problems with the site that have caused the low conversion.

Frustrating.

I thought your site looked really good. I thought I saw the secure button on your sign up page.

    Great job.

I looked again at the site,
but fast the way a shopper
    might.

    Price point maybe?

    The higher the price point,
the more it may take an
    autoresponder series to
    increase conversion,
    I’m thinking.

    I didn’t see price as I scrolled
the text, or on the payment
    page.

    The guarantee is strong, but
it’s online, so people may not
be believing it or taking it
    seriously.

Some copy guys teach that the
    higher the price the longer
the sales copy can be, so you
    could add testimonials as
    they become available.

    It’s an attractive page.

    I really like the woodgrain
    page on the audio offer.

Diane, I love the look of the site as well. The guarantee may be looked at a little differently from their perspective - you’re not giving them back the $398 cost of the system, you’re giving them back the cost of the cards - which at 2 cards per day for 6 months is $161.20 (assuming you’re not refunding the cost of the postage). From a buyer’s point of view this may be an issue. Even though your expectation is that they’ll increase their business by at least 20% and won’t need to take you up on the guarantee, I wonder how many people are doing the math?

Hmm - you might have a point Mary. I might need to look at the wording a little closer.

The other thing I keep telling myself is that it takes 5 touches to typically make a sale. I heard the stats once - it’s something like 70% of all sales happen after 5 touches. So, I’ve done 2 - the initial email for the teleseminar and one yesterday saying that the seminar was up on the site.

I might be a little too early on deciding that I need to change this.

    Yeah, could well be early.

Price might not even be the objection.

Your examples of using contact to improve business will go a long way to provide Cialdini’s social proof that they system works.
