What is your goal?
I want to create $1-million of net worth utilizing untapped assets that will generate a six-figure passive income stream for me and my partners in 2 years or less.
Why are you taking this challenge?
Laura and I have been fortunate enough to have the freedom and flexibility to spend a lot of time with our son Daniel since he was born. As he grows and gets to experience more things in life, I want to be able to be there for him and with him – to go to his ball games, to see him in school plays, to watch him grow up – without having to worry about losing revenue by taking time away from my business. So my primary reason is to be able to spend just a few hours each week on my business, so that I can be involved with Daniel’s life, and to build a solid foundation for my future and his future. Laura and I have been very blessed to be able to have the freedom and flexibility to be a big part of Daniel’s daily life and I’d like this to only get better.
Several years ago, we had reached this goal without really consciously realizing it, having created a business that gave us that freedom and income. So I’ve had a taste of the feeling of accomplishment, satisfaction, and success that comes with building that opportunity. It took us over five years the first time, with a lot of sweat equity, sleepless nights, and headache and heartache. This time I’d like to do it a little more quickly and a lot less painfully.
What strategies do you have to hit your goal?
One thing I’ve learned over the years is I can’t do it all myself, and there has to be a meaningful goal – not just “I want to be rich.” I can accomplish this, through the grace of God, and the help and support of my mastermind friends, clients, and business partners. This is more of a life purpose than a strategy, but a critical cornerstone of our new business is to give back – to children’s charities primarily – a portion of the net revenue we generate. The most successful people I’ve read about and have met, have made this part of their life purpose and business purpose, and I’ve personally seen it ignite opportunity and abundance for all who are sincerely involved.
We’ll initially be starting with internet marketing, online articles, and several websites to take advantage of the “speed of light” dissemination of information that can happen on the internet. Because our plan and product mix is intended to take the roadblocks and steep learning curve out of the equation in relation to the “back-office” critical tasks and help clients and prospects become more successful in their businesses, we’ll be positioning ourselves more as “business partners” than as “product vendors.”
What would happen in the next two years that would exceed all of your expectations?
Since I expect to reach my initial goal, the things that would happen that would exceed my expectations would be if we could generate enough support for Thunder Mission so that David Kennedy Cooley could realize his goals for the orphanages in Juarez, enough financial support for children’s charities so that any child anywhere could dream big and realize their dream, and enough compassionate support so that family shelters and food banks don’t have to scramble during “off-season” periods to have enough resources to meet their needs. Just as I can’t create the synergy for ebizCFO by myself, ebizCFO won’t be able to do all this by itself: but the cascading effect of getting others motivated through their personal success can make an awful lot of dreams become reality.
